Many students have difficulty with concentration and study methods. In Bruce College, we seek to address this difficulty. We hold a number of Study Skills Seminars throughout the year. These seminars cover a number of issues such as:
All students must attend a how to study seminar, this is held at the start of the school year. Here we begin the process of improving study habits by explaining a study method which we have evolved over the years. Following this seminar, students are helped to draw up their own effective study plan. As the school year progresses the important issues of Examination Techniques and Revision Plans are addressed.
Student progress is continually monitored through a system of mini-tests which are completed every fortnight. These tests are based on most recent topics.
All assessment results are recorded and available for discussion anytime. We encourage parents to attend Parent teacher meetings to monitor progress.
