Hello, my name is David Loughrey, and it is an honour and a privilege to stand before you today as the newly appointed principal of Bruce College Cork, one of Ireland’s most distinguished private schools. I want to begin by expressing my gratitude for all the warm congratulations I have received from parents, students, and staff alike. It’s a measure of the warm and supportive community that we have here in Bruce College Cork.

For almost twenty-five years, Bruce College Cork has been a beacon of academic excellence, character development, and innovation. I am fully committed to upholding that tradition whilst also preparing our students for a world that is now changing faster than ever. That means not only fostering academic rigor and intellectual curiosity, but also resilience, compassion, and a strong sense of purpose.

As principal of Bruce College, my vision is simple: Every student should be seen, feel supported, and challenged both personally and academically. Furthermore, I believe in a strong commitment to partnership between educators, families, and students. I look forward to working with you all to continue building a school where excellence is not just achieved, but expected.
