Gary Burns (Business)

A teacher of economics and business , Gary Burns joined Bruce College in 2011. Gary possesses an in-depth understanding of both Business and Economics curricula and has over 15 years’ experience in guiding students to excellence in their leaving certificate exams, consistently reaching top results in Ireland.

Gary will be teaching Leaving Cert Business Higher (4:30pm) and Economics Higher (6:15pm) Weekly Grinds on Wednesdays at Bruce College.

Sean O'Brien (Maths)

Sean O'Brien is one of the most recognizable names in Maths education. He is a dedicated and experienced mathematics teacher at Bruce College Cork, where he has been inspiring students with his clear explanations and passion for problem-solving. With a strong academic background in mathematics and years of teaching experience, Sean is known for his structured teaching style and ability to make complex concepts accessible.

Sean will be teaching Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths at 5:00pm on Tuesdays at Bruce College.

David Loughrey (English)

David Loughrey is a highly experienced and dedicated English teacher at Bruce College Cork, with over 25 years of teaching excellence. Specialising in Leaving Certificate Higher Level English, David is renowned for his unwavering commitment to helping students reach their full academic potential.

David will be teaching Leaving Cert Higher Level English at 5:00pm on Wednesdays at Bruce College.

Megan Dempsey (Irish)

Megan Dempsey is an Irish teacher at Bruce College Cork, known for her results-driven approach and deep understanding of the Leaving Certificate curriculum. Her teaching is focused, exam-oriented and built around helping students gain real confidence in both written and spoken Irish.

External Subjects – Can’t Study the Subjects You’re Passionate About at School?

If your school doesn’t offer a subject you’re interested in, or one you need for your future course, that shouldn’t hold you back.

At Bruce College, you can take control of your own academic path with our 5th & 6th Year External Subjects programme.

Subjects include: Applied Maths, Agricultural Science, Business, Classical Studies, Economics, Geography and Music.

Online Grinds

Students can choose to attend fully focused classes in person, at Bruce College, or enrol on our interactive online classes. Our online courses are delivered in partnership with The Institute of Education, Dublin.

All online classes are recorded, providing invaluable revision resources for students throughout the year.
